Swansea City
Swansea City are a Welsh
professional football club
based in Swansea.
Formed in 1912 they joined
the Football League in 1921,
and have been
members ever since. They
played in the old Football
League First Division
between 1981 and 1983,
finishing fifth in their
first season. In 2010–11
they were promoted to the
Premier League, after
winning the Football
League Championship
play-offs, and will become
the first Welsh club to
play in the division.
