Bettingadvice May 22nd
This week
sees the final round of football betting games in the Premier League.
The title may have already
been decided but there is
still plenty to play for.
Manchester City can still
catch Arsenal for third
place and that would be huge
as the team that finishes
third does not have to
pre-qualify for the
Champions
League and the
players get an extra summer
break. However where else
can you
start other than at
the bottom where relegation
costs teams an estimated £60
million
per season? With
West Ham already down then
only two places remain and
it could
be anybody’s.
BETTING TIP:
Tottenham to beat Birmingham
I have to start at White
Hart Lane where Tottenham
fresh from their 2-0 win at
Liverpool take on the
Carling Cup winners
Birmingham City. I think the
blues are in
real trouble
because Tottenham will be
going for the win to pip
Liverpool for 5th
place and a Europa League
spot. So I expect them to
beat Birmingham who for me
look absolutely shot. Their
2-0 loss at home to Fulham
last weekend has put the
writing on the wall for
them. But they would not be
the first team to win a cup
and then
go down.
So I am
clearly going for a
Tottenham win here and I
think that not only will
they
win but the win will
send Birmingham down into
the Championship.
BETTING TIP:
Stoke to draw with Wigan
Wigan produced one of
the fight backs of the
season last weekend when
they came
from 2-0 down to
beat hapless West Ham 3-2 at
the DW stadium. However they
are
far from being out of
the woods as they travel to
recent cup finalists Stoke
City.
Everyone in football
knows that Stoke are tough
to beat at home. Wigan
looked woeful
in the first
half again West Ham but I
think that they may just get
something from a
team who
have little to play for at
the end of the season.
I think that
a draw will be a good tip
for this game as long as you
can get a decent
price. A
draw may be good enough for
Wigan with two other teams
on 39pts.
BETTING TIP:
United to draw with
Blackpool
Blackpool have been
tipped to go down by most
people this season and few
would
have predicted that in
the final game of the season
that they would be in with a
great chance of staying up.
In a crazy way then they
could stay up if they lose
by
less goals than teams
like Birmingham and Wigan.
But they travel to
Manchester
United for the
final game but Blackpool
have had two huge slices of
luck for this tie.
Firstly
United are champions with a
game to spare and secondly
they will only be
six days
away from a Champions League
final with Barcelona. They
are certain to
play a
weakened team and that could
give Blackpool a real chance
and they
certainly know how
to find the net.

BETTING TIP:
Manchester City to beat
Stoke City
There is no
better place to start this
weekend than at Wembley
stadium with some
FA cup betting for
the 2011 FA Cup final.This
is Manchester City’s big
chance to wipe
out the
history of that 35 year wait
for a trophy. They are
becoming increasingly
desperate to take down the
famous banner at Old
Trafford proclaiming that
their neighbours City have
not won anything in all that
time. This final will be
huge for
City in so many
different ways. Firstly if
they can win this final then
it will not only
rewrite
history but it will also
provide a springboard for
them to move on at a faster
pace because the will have
broken the psychological
barrier of winning
something.
We saw how
Arsenal crumbled after
losing the Carling Cup final
to Birmingham.
Winning
the cup and getting into the
top four in the league will
be like winning the
double
for City. However Stoke will
provide tough opposition for
anyone and they may
just
cause an upset here. However
the time has come for City
to end their trophy
draught
and I think that they will
edge a very close final by a
score of say 1-0 or 2-1.
BETTING TIP:
Manchester United to win at
Blackburn
The shackles
are well and truly off
Manchester United now and
they are on the verge
of
confirming the title. They
travel to relegation haunted
Blackburn Rovers who look
as
though they may have just
done enough with 4pts from
their past two games.
I
really think that United
will confirm the title in
this game as I cannot see
them
being beaten. When you
look at how they played in
the game against Chelsea
then
it is clear that they
are reaching their peak at
just the right time.
So it isn’t
feasible to me for United to
be beaten in this game and I
cannot see
them taking the
game lightly. They will not
want to lose this game and
then see
Chelsea win. Funny
things can happen on the
final day of seasons and
Alex Ferguson
will want to
avoid that and wrap things
up a game early. I expect
United to win and also
to
win comfortably.
BETTING TIP:
Wigan to draw with West Ham
If ever a
game had the tag of "six
pointer" then this weekends
game between Wigan
and West
Ham is the ultimate
relegation classic. Avram
Grant has targeted 7pts
from
their final three games but
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home
to Blackburn was a
huge blow
for them. They were
targeting that game as a
possible three points but
it
didn’t happen. Then with
Wolves winning on Sunday
then they are 4pts adrift
now
with two games to go.
They simply have to win this
game but then again so do
Wigan.
These types of games
tend to be ruled by fear but
surely it is time now for
both clubs
to simply go for
the win. However games like
this often end in a result
that suits
neither side and
that result is a draw.
Bettingadvice
May 7th-8th
There is
only one place to start this
weekend and that is at Old
Trafford. Who would
have
thought that we would be
talking about a possible
title decider a few weeks
ago when United held a
massive 15pt lead over
Chelsea at one stage. That
is down to
a mere 3pts now
with both teams having
exactly the same goal
difference. It has been
an
amazing run from Chelsea
that has seen then barely
drop any points since the
turn *of the year. United can
hardly be said to have been
slipping either as they have
only lost three league games
all season.
BETTING TIP:
United to beat Chelsea
However
United rarely lose at home
in any competition that they
take seriously
and United
should have reached the
Champions League final by
the time you read
this and
so that should take away
some of the pressure. This
is a game that United
dare
not lose and Chelsea need to
win. If Chelsea win then
they go top on goal
difference but this is going
to be one seriously tense
game for both sides.
It is
so difficult to see an edge
for either team other than
the normal home advantage.
However
Chelsea need to win the game
and that will work to
United’s advantage in
my
opinion and that could leave
them exposed during the
second half. So I am going
to beton a narrow United
win of somewhere in the
region of 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.
BETTING TIP:
Tottenham to beat Blackpool
In recent
years then there has been a
tendency
for promoted clubs to really
struggle
in the second half
of the season and Blackpool
have added to that list this
year.
Teams like Burnley,
Hull and now Blackpool have
had meteoric starts to their
respective
seasons in recent
years only to then seriously
struggle after Christmas. It
is difficult
to see where a
Blackpool win is going to
come from these days and I
simply cannot
make a case
for them staying up. I
really felt that they had to
take all three points in
their home game against
Stoke last weekend but they
could only draw 0-0.
Tottenham
will be really going for
this as this will be their
last chance to close the
gap
with Manchester City who
face a tough trip to Everton
for the race for fourth
place.
I simply cannot see
Blackpool taking anything
from this game against Spurs
and
this presents my home
banker for the weekend.
BETTING TIP:
West Ham to beat Blackburn
The number
of "six point" games are
coming thick and fast now
and there are
none bigger
than at Upton Park this
weekend where West Ham take
on Blackburn
Rovers. Avram
Grant has come under
increasing pressure ever
since he came close
to
losing his job just after
Christmas. He still
maintains that West Ham can
stay up
and they most
certainly can.
Blackburn have been very
poor recently and I was far
from impressed with their
win against Bolton last
weekend. This is simply a
must win game for the
Hammers
and I think they
will edge a very nervy
affair that may see them
climb from the bottom
of the
league. It will be close but
my tip is for West Ham to
win this fixture

BETTING TIP:
United to win at Arsenal
There is no
doubting that this weekend’s
big game is between Arsenal
and
Manchester United. However
with Arsenal losing at
Bolton last weekend then
this tie
has lost some of its sting.
How Alex Ferguson would love
to take a huge step nearer
the title at the home of one
of his rivals. The truth is
though that when the
pressure
increases then Arsenal fold…..it’s that simple. United have moved into
another
gear now and this is what
they do. Arsenal have also
moved into another gear and
it is
a lower gear than the one
that they were in several
months ago.
So for me
then I see another kick in
the stomach this weekend
with United edging
what promises to be a
thrilling encounter. Surely
now it is clear that
although this
team are maturing, they are
not maturing enough when it
comes to the high
pressure games. I simply do
not expect a side that is
mentally crumbling one
season
to be league champions the
next and so for me Arsenal
have already proven that
they cannot win the title
next season either.
BETTING TIP:
Chelsea to beat Tottenham
The Chelsea
vs Tottenham game is not far
behind in importance and
there is no
doubt that they will have
one eye on what is happening
at Arsenal for sure.
Tottenham seem to have lost
a bit of steam of late and I
really think that their
5-0 aggregate loss to Real
Madrid took something out of
them. I think that this
was underlined last weekend
when they slipped to a 2-2
draw at home to
West Brom. Chelsea are
really flying now and it was
unfortunate for them that
they had
to play United in the last
eight of the Champions
League.
I really
think that they will get the
better of a struggling
Tottenham at the moment and
with Fernando Torres
breaking his duck in their
comfortable 3-0 win against
West Ham then that will be
another potential problem
for Harry Redknapp’s team.
Sorry Tottenham fans…..I
cannot see anything else
other than a Chelsea win
here.
BETTING TIP:
Manchester City to beat West
Ham United
West Ham
only escaped going down a
few years ago by the skin of
their teeth and
then had to pay Sheffield
United a reported £15
million in compensation over
the
signing of Carlos Tevez.
They just avoided the drop
again last season and you
have
o ask the question of how
long they can keep avoiding
the trap door like this?
They are bottom of the
league and face a tough trip
to cup finalists Manchester
City
this weekend. I really think
that City will be in the top
four by the end of the
season
and that they will also cap
that off with a cup triumph
at Wembley. West Ham have
been without Scott Parker
recently and they will need
him back for sure in this
game.
Blackpool
are at home to Stoke on the
same day and so defeat in
this game could
see West Ham very close to
the trap door. However City
have been playing with
real confidence lately and I
simply cannot see them
dropping any points in this
game.

BETTING TIP:
United to beat Everton
This week
could see Manchester United
take a huge leap towards the
title. Everton
are having a
great finish to the season
and they currently reside in
7th place in
the
league which is really where
they ought to be in all
fairness. It will be
interesting
to see how
United handle the pressure
themselves because it isn’t
just their title
rivals who
will feel the pressure.
United will
want to come back after
their disappointing FA Cup
loss to their noisy
neighbours across the city.
I think the Everton game
will go along way towards
deciding the title but I
just see United being too
strong for an Everton side
who just
may be coasting
between now and the end of
the season. I expect a
nervous time at
Old Trafford
but I think that United will
prevail.
BETTING TIP:
Sunderland to draw with
Wigan
With so many
teams in this seasons
relegation fight then it
appears that there is a
huge
six point game every week.
Well this week there are
three such encounters with
the biggest one being
Sunderland vs Wigan and it
will be interesting to see
if
Steve Bruce’s side can
stop the alarming slide that
they have had since
Christmas.
They are
currently 15th in
the league but they still
have a 5pt cushion between
themselves and the drop
zone. Wigan on the other
hand will be buoyed by their
recent win at Blackpool
which dragged them out of
the drop zone for the time
being.
However I am
not getting carried away by
that as I simply feel that
Wigan lack the
quality to
stay in this division
although they could do so
purely based on the results
of others. Neither side is
playing well and in this
instance then I am going to
go for
a draw in this game.
BETTING TIP:
Tottenham to beat West Brom
Tottenham
have had a fantastic
Champions League campaign
but their number
one
priority of course will be
to finish fourth again.
However five into four will
not go
and so it is looking
increasingly like another
battle between them and
Manchester
City again for
the coveted top four
positions. They entertain
West Brom this weekend
who
have been boosted by some
great results since Roy
Hodgson took charge.
West Brom are currently 6pts
clear of the drop zone and
looking reasonably
comfortable and while I
don’t expect them to roll
over at White Hart Lane, I
do not
expect anything other
than a Tottenham victory.
I also think
that the battle for the top
four will go down to the
wire again but I think for
sure that Tottenham will get
three points here against
The Baggies.

BETTING TIP:
United to beat City
Where better
to start this weekend than
with the two FA Cup
semi-finals. United take
on
City in what will be a
betting frenzy and there is
going to be a massive
incentive
for both sides to
win this one. It will be a
Manchester derby anyway but
City would
not only take a
giant step forward towards
ending that long trophy
drought but they
would do it
denying their rivals a
possible double or even a
treble. However they
just
don’t look the finished
article to me and Monday’s
3-0 beating at Anfield and
the reaction of James Milner
to being substituted said
volumes.
They are
also struggling to have
Carlos Tevez fit after he
picked up an injury
although
United will be without the
suspended Wayne Rooney. It
is difficult to look
at
United now without seeing a
possible treble. They are
favourites to win the
FA
Cup, very handily placed in
the Champions League and
look nailed on for the
league. I am simply going
for more pain for the light
blue half of the city this
weekend
and I see a United
win which will increase the
pressure on Roberto Mancini
and especially given their
league position.
BETTING TIP:
Arsenal to draw with
Liverpool
Liverpool
showed in midweek that they
can cope without Steven
Gerrard with their
great
display against Manchester
City. They travel to Arsenal
this week in what
appears to
be a far tougher game for
the Gunners than it would
have been a few
months ago.
Arsenal are misfiring and
their 3-1 win at Blackpool
wasn’t convincing.
With news
circulating this week of
bust ups on the Arsenal
training pitch then could
this be a sign of a lack of
unity in the camp or is it
just one of those things?
United have
basically been handed the
title this season by
Chelsea’s huge mid
season
blip and the fact that
Arsenal simply do not have
the steel for it. While
United have still had to win
it, I think that few would
argue that the pressure has
been lifted an awful lot
towards the latter stages of
the season. Although before
we
hand them the title then
Arsenal’s win at Blackpool
and another win over
Liverpool
would leave them
only 4pts behind and they
still have to play United.
However I see
them dropping
points this Saturday as
Liverpool push on to try and
make 5th spot in
the league.
BETTING TIP:
West Ham to beat Aston Villa
This weekend
sees an absolutely vital
game for West Ham as they
entertain Aston
Villa in a
battle of the Clarets. Villa
gained a huge three points
last Sunday with their
win
against Newcastle and any
win for any side at the
bottom is like gold dust at
this stage of the season.
That win for Villa takes
them 5pts clear of the drop
with breathing space.
However West
Ham only have six games to
save themselves and this is
one of
those games that they
will feel that they can win.
At home to Villa gives them
a chance
to get three points
here in front of what will
be a passionate crowd at
Upton Park
and I think that
this might just make the
difference. The pressure has
been lifted
slightly for
Villa after their win
against Newcastle and that
could just provide a chance
for West Ham to take
advantage. So I am going for
a nervy West Ham win that
should take them out of the
drop zone.

April 9th
This weekend sees Manchester
United take on Fulham in a
game that I think the
Reds will not only win but
will also take another huge
step to the title and that
much
sought after 19th title to overtake Liverpool. Fulham have had
some decent results
of late and Mark Hughes has
finally pulled around what
has been a difficult season
for
him. However their main striker Bobby Zamora is now scoring goals again
after his
long lay off and that poses
a threat to United. But they
will be ready for that and
they
may need this title if
things go badly in the
Champions League against
Chelsea!
BETTING TIP:
Manchester United to beat
Fulham
When United get the
sniff of a title then they
have proven difficult to
stop down the
years and the lead that they
have at the moment will give
them fresh impetus. They
do seem to have a soft
underbelly though and they
are not as strong as
previous
United sides for sure.
However I do think that they
will take all three points
against Fulham this weekend.
BETTING TIP:
Blackburn to draw with
Birmingham City
Ewood Park will prove to
be a fascinating venue this
weekend where two
relegation haunted clubs go
head to head with Blackburn
taking on Birmingham.
Both clubs were buoyed with
good results last weekend
but these are two very
closely matched teams. When
two sides are this close
then it is difficult to make
a
case for either side.
Blackburn have really
struggled since Big Sam got
the boot and I
am not sure if Steve Keane
is the man for the future. I
think regardless of where
they finish, he will be gone
by the time next season
starts.
I am going to tip the draw
in this one simply because I
cannot separate the sides
and
so if the price is good
enough then my money will be
on a draw here.
BETTING
TIP: Wolves to draw with
Everton
Wolves are one side who
have been in the bottom
section of the league all
season
but they do have it in their
hands to avoid going down.
They do not have a bad run
until the end of the season
either but this weekends
game with Everton is one
that
is difficult to call. Once
again this is another game
where all three results are
possible. Everton have had
one of those difficult
seasons but they have
started to
climb the table of late and
will end the season in the
top half for sure.
Once again I
am going for the draw here
simply because I cannot find
a strong
enough case for either side
winning the game. It is
difficult to see Wolves
getting
enough points between now
and the end of the month
that would take them clear
of the drop zone and so they
will be in this scrap all
the way to the end for me.
I recommend

April 2nd
The Premier League
returns this weekend and
with the season drawing to a
conclusion then games are
starting to carry far more
meaning. With the league
eing amazingly compressed
this year then nearly
everyone has something to
play for with either the
title, top four finish,
Europe or relegation at
stake.
BETTING TIP:
West Ham to draw with
Manchester United
One huge
game that is big for both
clubs is at Upton Park where
West Ham
take on Manchester
United. The Reds have some
bad injury concerns of late
and they will have been
happy to see the
international break so that
they can patch
up a few
players.
West Ham are
resurgent of late and you
can make a case for them
staying up.
I really think
they will continue that this
weekend despite the quality
of opposition.
West Ham led
by Scott Parker are fighting
fiercely now and I really
think that they
will take
something against United and
my tip for this game is a
draw.
BETTING TIP:
Arsenal to beat Blackburn
Rovers
One team who
are really struggling now
are Blackburn Rovers. After
getting rid
of Big Sam then
they have gone on an
alarming slide that now sees
them just
above the drop
zone. It is very risky to
axe experienced managers
when your
league status
isn’t guaranteed. It seems
to me that the new owners
wanted
someone in charge who
they could have more control
over and that is going to
mean that most top flight
managers wouldn’t want to go
to Blackburn.
I can well
see Blackburn slipping out
of the league and it has
happened before
soon after
their 1995 historic title
win. Arsenal have been
slipping badly of late but I
really think that they will
come up with all three
points here and increase the
pressure at Ewood Park for
Steve Keane.
BETTING TIP:
Chelsea to win at Stoke City
I took a
fair bit of criticism last
week for daring to suggest
that Chelsea are back
in the
title race. But they trail
United by 9pts with a game
in hand and should they
win
that and win at Old Trafford
then that could see them
just 3pts behind the Reds.
They travel to Stoke this
weekend which is always a
very tough fixture for any
team. However I see Chelsea
who are playing very well at
the moment not only
getting
back into the title race but
also dumping United out of
the Champions League.
I also
see Chelsea grinding out a
tough away win at Stoke and
winning by the odd
goal
maybe late on.
BETTING TIP:
Fulham to beat Blackpool
One final
game that I want to look at
this week is at Craven
Cottage where Fulham
take on
Blackpool. Bayern Munich
have been singing the
praises of Mark
Hughes
recently and would it be any
surprise to see him as their
new coach next
season after
an indifferent season in the
league and a mediocre
European campaign?
What of
Blackpool, if they were 2-0
up with ten minutes to go
then would you bet your
life
that they would win? No you
wouldn’t because they simply
concede too many
goals.
However I do see them
staying up by the skin of
their teeth but only because
they score goals more than
the other teams at the
bottom! However travelling
to
the capital is never easy
and I do not see Blackpool
taking anything from the
Cottage.
