European Football Match Betting Tips May 8th & 9st 2010

With one or two matches left depending on the league it is getting very close to the end of another great
season of European football.
Soccer betting fans should not despair; another season will start soon after
the small matter of the World Cup 2010 over the summer!

Here are my tips for the weekend matches concerning the main European leagues plus my recommended bet.

Bundesliga – Hertha BSC 3/1 Draw 49/20 Bayern Munich 17/20

Bayern Munich are champions elect as they have a +17 advantage over second place Schalke 04 and only
a catastrophe will see them lose their grip on the title race with a three point lead. They received bad news
that star player Franck Ribery will be suspended for the Champions league final and it will be his final match
for them this season and potentially for good if he moves on in the off-season. 17/20 seems very good odds
for the away win as Hertha are bottom of the league with only 24 points this season. Bayern have 67.
I think this match should certainly be an away win providing Bayern keep their eyes on the ball. They are
likely to field a weakened side but one that should still win this match. My football tip for this match is
Bayern Munich to win away at 17/20.

Serie A – Genoa 57/20 Draw 21/10 A.C. Milan 1/1

Both of the top sides are massive favourites in their matches at home with Inter looking like winning the
league title as well as being favourites for the champion’s league. Nothing really sticks out for me this week
in the betting in Serie A but this match could present us with an opportunity. Milan are away to Genoa
and have lost their last two away games, but they won their last match. They will be eager to finish the
season strongly and on paper have more than enough ability to win the match. Genoa have lost three of
their last four matches with their last three matches at home being either a loss or a draw. I favour Milan
to continue the trend of Genoa not quite being good enough at home. My tip is Milan to win away at 1/1.

Ligue 1 – Valenciennes FC 9/2 Draw 13/5 Lyon 3/5

Another away bet takes my fancy in the French league this week. Lyon are third in the table and have
the second best away record in the league with 31 points from 18 matches. Valenciennes have only 27 points
from their 18 home matches and at this critical point in the season we have over 95% of all available stats
for the season and I place a lot of trust in them. Lyon won their last away match whilst Valenciennes only
drew at home. This suggests an away win here is a strong possibility with many stats pointing to an away
team advantage. At 3/5 the odds are reasonable so I will tip Lyon to win.

If you were to follow my selections and place €10 on the treble for Lyon at 3/5, AC Milan at 1/1 and Bayern
Munich at 17/20 you would return, including your stake, a total of €59.20.

Follow the link to my other betting tips if you want more tips from different sports over the summer.

odds I use are correct at the time of writing and taken from top sports betting site bwin.com.

European Football Match Betting Tips May 1st 2010  Archive

The Champions league final will be an interesting clash between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich but in this
weekly football betting tips article we are going to focus on their domestic league matches in their respective
countries and pick out the best bets from the European football fixtures. Each
football bet uses the odds
from bwin.com, our chosen sportsbook.

Each week I search through the stats and the weekly news to find the best match from the Bundesliga in
Germany, Serie A in Italy and La Liga in Spain and put together a continental football bet for the weekend
.

BundesligaHamburger SV 4/5 Draw 53/20 FC Nurnberg 3/1

This match is a clear value bet for me. HSV are much higher in the league than Nurnberg in seventh position
to Nurnbergs fifteenth position with twenty points separating the teams. With HSV playing at home they will
be expecting to have many chances to put a win in their season’s results. Nurnberg have lost their last three
matches and are under a lot of pressure to retain their league status, facing HSV who sacked manager Bruno
Labbadia after losing 5-1 to 1899 Hoffenheim should still be difficult for Nurnberg despite off the field unrest
t HSV. I expect a home win in this match at 4/5 and believe the favourable odds are more to do with the
managers sacking rather than a comparison of the quality of the players, where I believe HSV hold a good
chance of victory.

Serie A – Lazio 6/1 Draw 3/1 Inter Milan 9/20

Inter knocked out Barcelona to reach the final of the Champions league and the players will be full of
confidence and as league leaders Inter will want to push on to win the league title. Compare that attitude
to Lazio who are sixteenth in Serie A and despite two wins in their last three matches that is the only reason
why they are partially out of relegation trouble. With Roma losing their last match after a great run the title
appears to be Mourinho’s men’s for the taking and this should add to their motivation for this match.

Take advantage of the away team value in this match and at 9/20 there is a reasonable return to be had
backing a form side to beat a relegation threatened side. This bet stuck out a mile for me in the Serie A
listings at bwin.com this week and is, for me at least, the best bet in the market.

La Liga – Villareal 5/1 Draw 3/1 Barcelona 1/2

Do you see my strategy for this week? I am backing a reaction from the champion’s league matches due
to their importance and imprint onto the players from both the winning and losing teams. With Barcelona’s
squad so full of quality the unfortunate Villareal side are likely to get the backlash from the semi-final
elimination in midweek. Backing Barcelona to win away at 1/2 is an acceptable bet, but what about
Barcelona to be leading at half time and full time for 29/20? This looks a great bet to me and you might
consider this as an additional single bet. Villareal are sixth in La Liga but a massive thirty five points behind
Barcelona which shows the gulf in the teams.

The recommended bet is a straight forward treble bet this week. If you put €10 on the treble backing
Barcelona at 1/2, Inter Milan at 9/20 and HSV at 4/5 your total return including your stake if this wins
would be €39.15 making this almost a 3/1 bet. I think there is more chance than one in three that these
three teams win this weekend.

Good luck with whatever European football bets you decide to place at bwin.com

European Football Match Betting Tips April 24th 2010

Many of the big clubs from Europe have the champions league on their minds and we must consider this
when we select which of the league fixtures to bet on this weekend.

Here is my weekly column on which are the best matches to bet on from the league fixtures across Europe.
I focus on decent returning odds and use the
sports betting odds from bwin.com each week for my selections
and I give you an option on a specific bet you might like to place. Bwin offer many different special bets and
leagues and you should check out what they offer before placing any bets.

La Liga - Athletico Madrid 7/10 Draw 27/10 CD Tenerife 7/2

Madrid are mid-table with 40 points whilst Tenerife are in the relegation places third from bottom after a
tough season. Tenerife won their last match away from home against Sporting Gijon but had a scoreless
draw against Valladolid before that so there are signs of life for them and all is not lost as they fight
relegation but they need to make something happen quickly if they are to survive in La Liga. Madrid lost
3-0 away to Espanyol and lost at home to Xerez in a surprise loss last week. I am going to back the draw
here as Madrid let us down last week and to back them again seems unwise, even though this is a match
they are rightly favourites for. Tenerife have everything to play for and I fancy them to draw against a
Madrid team struggling for form. Back the draw at 27/10 for this match.

Serie A
Livorno 49/20 Draw 23/10 Catania 21/20

I am backing the away team in this Italian football fixture. Catania have won once and drawn twice in their
last three fixtures and they should do well against a team at the foot of the table, a certainty for relegation
and with three losses and two drawn matches in their last five games. Livorno players will be struggling to
come to terms with their bad season and their squad has been proven to be lacking the ability to defeat the
opposition found in Serie A. I would back Catania at 21/20 in what may well by 1/1 at the match kick-off.
Catania have been fairly solid and their only defeat in their last five games was a narrow 1-0 defeat away
to Napoli, so they can be relied upon I think to give a good account of themselves against what is
statistically the worst side in the league.

Bundesliga Borussia Monchengladbach 5/1 Draw 3/1 Bayern Munich 1/2

Bayern are top of the league two points ahead of FC Schalke 04 who are away to Hertha Berlin this weekend.
Will the bad press regarding Franck Ribery in a lap dancing club facing serious allegations affect his
performance? Bayern need a result here and against Monchen they have a good chance of victory I think,
regardless of off-field considerations. Coming off a 7-0 victory over Hannover I think you must back them to
win this match. Top sides tend to play their best towards the end of each season and you can see signs of
his happening with Bayern Munich. I will take 1/2 to back the away win here.

Placing a €10 bet on the draw between Athletico Madrid and Tenerife at 27/10 will return €37 including your
stake if successful. Backing a €10 double between Catania at 21/20 and Bayern Munich at 1/2 would return a
total of €30.75. So for a €20 stake this weekend you could win a total return of €67.75 across our two bets.

Champions League betting odds as that competition is also reaching an exciting climax.

European Football Match Betting Tips April 17th 2010

Each week there is more information in each of the European football leagues to help us select the best
bets for our
football betting selections. Looking at the German, Spanish and Italian leagues here are my
top selection from each of those leagues for this weekend. Most of the leagues are closely fought and with
the World Cup approaching fast, many of the players are keen to show why they deserve a place in their International squads.

Here are my
betting tips for this weekends matches, you can only find them right here on this website.

Bundesliga – VfB Stuttgart 23/20 Draw 9/4 Bayer Leverkusen 9/4

Stuttgart is seventh in the Bundesliga, seven points behind Leverkusen who lie in third place.
Leverkusen showed improvement after a 3-2 loss to Eintracht recently by drawing 1-1 at home to
Bayern Munich. Stuttgart has done well this season and recently beat Hertha Berlin 2-1 away from home
and they are on a four match winning run. Leverkusen has, however, scored fifteen more goals this season
than Stuttgart. A bet on either the home win or draw would be my selections here and my tip is for the
draw at 9/4. Stuttgart has had a great run here but they are playing a side firmly planted at the top of
the league that has shown good form away from home this season.

La Liga – Athletico Madrid 33/100 Draw 15/4 Xerez 15/2

Bottom side Xerez travel to Athletico Madrid who league position is a more healthy tenth position, three
points clear of Osasuna in eleventh position. Xerez have shown signs of life albeit at the foot of the table
but Athletico won their last match against rivals Bilbao and narrowly lost 3-2 to Real Madrid before that.
This suggests to me that they should definitely have a great chance to win this match if they play anywhere
near their best. Xerez look certain for relegation and their will to fight may be diminishing as the reality of
their situation hits home. 33/100 seems reasonable odds for the home win and therefore that is my tip for
this match.

Serie A – Lazio 53/20 Draw 9/4 Roma 1/1

This is my best bet of the weekend. Roma have blasted the Serie A league race wide open winning their
last five matches in a row and now stand in first place. They travel to sixteenth place Lazio who have
only scored 37 goals in 33 games this season. Lazio, to their credit, have won three of their last five games
to somewhat ease relegation fears but they still remain in big trouble. Facing Roma, even when playing
at home, is a tall order for them. Roma’s away form is a slight concern having won six and drawn seven
but in current form I think they will enter this match expecting to take three points. At a 1/1 return, I think
we should back them too. They are currently 19/20 to win Serie A, second favourites behind Inter Milan
who bwin.com still expect to win at 23/25, but it is very close.

If you were to have a €10 bet on the treble selecting Roma at 1/1, Athletico Madrid at 33/100 and the
draw between Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen at 9/4 your total returns, including your stake, would
be €86.45.

Good luck on whatever football bets you decide to place this weekend and enjoy all of the action.
There are plenty of more bets you can place by visiting bwin.com and viewing their European football
betting markets.

European Football Match Betting Tips April 10th 2010

Using the football betting oddsfrom bwin.com this is our weekly look at the various fixtures from across the
leagues of Europe. With top of the league clashes having a massive effect on the respective teams challenge
for the league titles and every point counting in the relegation struggles it is a great time to bet on football
in Europe where every point matters and every match has far reaching consequences.

La Liga – Real Madrid 27/20 Draw 13/5 Barcelona 33/20

What a match and one that the whole of Europe will be watching and betting on! Lionel Messi dominated the
sport news this week with a four goal haul in the destruction of Arsenal in the Champion’s League and he will
be relishing the challenge of facing Real when he is in such good form. Real Madrid won against Racing Club
and Barcelona routed Athletico so their form in recent matches could not be better coming into this match
for both teams.

With both sides locked on 77 points this is a match for more than pride, it could decide the destination of
the league title for this season. Messi is 23/20 to score during the match, joint favourite with Cristiano
Ronaldo at the same odds. Both players are 4/1 to score first. I am going to tip the draw at 13/5, in what is
a must see match as I cannot separate them. I might give a slight edge to Barcelona in terms of form but
that is cancelled out by them playing this match away from home. Both clubs are 22 points ahead of their
third placed league rival, Valencia.

Bundesliga – Bayer Leverkusen 21/10 Draw 23/10 Bayern Munich 6/5

Will Bayern be distracted after their Champions league match against Manchester Utd? They need to
refocus quickly as the Bundesliga also have a league match between two of the three top teams. Leverkusen
are off the pace now, losing 3-2 to Frankfurt all but ended their title dreams. For this reason I fancy Bayern,
who are in the thick of the action on their domestic and European competitions, to be hungrier for this match.
Arjen Robben and Van Buyten should be back in the side for Bayern and this is enough for me to tip them
to win at 6/5. This is another match you should definitely tune in and watch if you can. We are spoilt for
choice for top of the league clashes this weekend right across Europe.

Serie A – AC Milan 7/20 Draw 73/20 Catania 27/4

To pad out our treble I have selected a match from Serie A that offers a bit more reassurance about the
end result. Milan are still in the title race with plenty of play for. They are third in the league, three points
behind rivals Inter Milan. Catania are mid-table with nothing really to play for, which I believe is significant
after a long tiring season. Given that AC Milan won their last match after a somewhat barren spell of form
they are on a momentum building run which is good for their chances. Milan beat Cagliari away from home
3-2 in their last match and will expect to win this match when playing at home. I would happily back them
in our treble at 7/20 to win this match. You may be interested in over 2.5 goals in the match at odds of 11/2.

If you were to back all of my selections in a €10 treble bet by betting on AC Milan at 7/20, Bayern Munich
at 6/5 and the draw between Real Madrid and Barcelona at 13/5 your total returns, including your stake,
would be a handsome €106.92. I would be happy to back these bets in singles bets also, or even doubles.
Whatever you choose I think these matches offer us a bit of value at this critical point in the season.

European Football Match Betting Tips 2nd to 3rd April 2010

As an England fan I am watching our World Cup betting chances diminish as one by one our best players
suffer injuries, so this article is a welcome distraction of the worries of being an England football fan! It is
with great pleasure I give my tips for the European football matches available to bet on at bwin.com using
their
football betting odds. My selections come from the best European football leagues from the La Liga
in Spain, the Bundesliga in Germany, Serie A in Italy and Ligue 1 in France.

La Liga – Sporting Gijon 3/4 Draw 5/2 Xerez 7/2

It is never a wise bet to back Xerez as the bottom side this season away from home to get a result.
They have shown they are incapable of any consistency this season.
Gijon are 11th in the league and
faring better that Xerez. Gijon beat Deportivo in their last match and I am confident that they can win
at home. 3/4 are decent odds to form part of our treble bet. Hopefully we get off to a good start with the
home team winning what the league suggests is the easiest league match at home they will play this season.

Serie A – AS Bari 9/2 Draw 29/10 Roma 11/20

Roma are the in form team at the moment and have overtaken Milan into second place winning their last
three matches. Bari are in tenth place, but still on a good streak of five matches unbeaten. The question is
whether that run is true against the best teams in the league. I believe Bari are good enough at home to
avoid losing to Roma but believe that Roma are in too good form to lose. Therefore my tip for this match is
to back the draw in singles bets only at 29/10. A good performance by both teams should result in their
respective unbeaten streaks remaining intact.

Ligue 1 – Montpellier HSC 4/5 Draw 23/10 AS Monaco 7/2

The league positions and the home win odds are what attract me to this match. Monaco are 9th place in the
league and playing away against second placed Montpellier, who will be dreaming of Champions league
football and the financial windfall of qualifying for it. Coming from a 4-1 defeat against Lille away this is the
opportunity for them to improve. Monaco scored four in their last but one match but the other three games
of their last four have been scoreless. I back Montpellier to win this match, inspired by the fact the top five
teams in Ligue 1 are separated by only two points!

Bundesliga – Eintracht Frankfurt 21/10 Draw 23/10 Bayer Leverkusen 6/5

Leverkusen have faltered a little in the last few weeks in the league throwing away a lead to now stand in
third place, losing three of their last four matches. Eintracht lost heavily to
Leverkusen earlier in the season
so will want to take advantage of this. They are on a two match winning streak that included a 2-1 over
the formidable Bayern Munich. I think the draw at 23/10 is yet again a good singles bet. We see that the
home team is too good to lose according to the stats and the away side should be able to avoid defeat.
23/10 for the draw is the tip here.

Good luck with all of your weekend football betting particularly if you join me betting on the European
football at bwin.com.

European Football Match Betting Tips 27th to 28st March 2010

European Football Betting Tips for 26th March 2010

Using the odds from https://www.bwin.com we take a weekly look through the Football betting opportunities
in the European football betting market to identify the best bets from the German, Spanish and Italian
leagues. For continental football betting, you can get no better than bwin.com; they offer a wide variety
of special bets for each match including first goalscorer and half time/full time scores.

We aim for a good value treble bet or accumulator, so our selections are based on individual matches betting
suitability for this bet. The following selections have a good chance of winning I think, with enough value to
secure us a good return.

Bundesliga – FC Bayern 11/20 Draw 11/4 VfB Stuttgart 49/10

Bayern are currently at the top of the Bundesliga and have overtaken Leverkusen in the run up to the end
of the season. Ribery has fully recovered from injury and is back attracting the interest of the biggest clubs
in the world. Stuttgart bounced back nicely from their Champions league exit with a good win over Hanover,
but facing the league leaders away from home will be very difficult. Bayern also boast an in-form Arjen
Robben, formerly of Chelsea, and with the experience of winning so many league titles I think they will be
nearly impossible to stop. I think, therefore, that 11/20 are good odds for a home win in our accumulator bet.

La Liga – Getafe 25/4 Draw 4/1 Real Madrid 7/20

Real and Barcelona are locked on 68 points and a classic fight for the La Liga title is developing. Real are in
form and hungry for their huge spending to reap a league title. They have the players, can they deliver?
I think so. Getafe may be eighth in the league but have lost twelve matches this season. Without even
looking at previous form I think the likes of Drenthe, Pepe, Ronaldo and Higuain will be more than motivated
to win this and many more league matches. For our bet, I select Real Madrid at 7/20.

Serie A – Parma 4/1 Draw 13/5 AC Milan 67/100

AC Milan are pushing Inter Milan very strongly. Inter have drawn, lost and drawn their last three matches
and AC have every reason to believe they can snatch the league title. Parma are unbeaten in four matches
but their lowly league position suggests this consistency is not something they have managed against top
teams. They also only managed four goals in those four games and goals will be far harder to come by
against the class of Milan. I think AC Milan, with everything to play for, will manage goals against Parma.
67/100 completes our treble bet and looks a good value bet for us.

I find that if you back the teams at the top of the league they do well because they have proven form and
a goal to play for. Sometimes, teams in the middle of the league lose motivation.

If you have a £10 bet on the three selections above then your total returns, including your stake, will be
£34.94. This is a good return considering each team are quite heavy favourites to win their matches.
We have clawed back some value by the fact that two of the teams are playing away which makes victory
slightly more difficult for them.

Enjoy all of the action this weekend and look out for the European football betting tips next week.

Malcolm Clarke

European Football Match Betting Tips 20th to 21st March 2010

Inter Milan beat Chelsea in the Champions league but are struggling to maintain their position at the top of
Serie A. Bayern Munich, Schalke O4 and Bayer Leverkusen are within three points of each other in the
Bundesliga whilst Real Madrid and Barcelona are neck and neck in La Liga. Euro match betting is at a climax
at this exciting point in the season.

Here are my recommended bets from across Europe for the match betting this weekend from the major
leagues we follow using the
sports betting odds from bwin.com, our favourite bookmaker.

Bundesliga – 1. FC Nurnberg 7/5 Draw 9/4 1899 Hoffenheim 9/5
Nurnberg are 15th in the Bundesliga, one point away from the relegation play-off position whilst Hoffenheim
are further up the league in eleventh position. 13% of fans believe on Bundesliga.de that Nurnberg will survive
the drop which helps us give them some credit for playing at home. Hoffenheim lost at home to Werder Bremen
in their last match and unfortunately despite their higher league position I am unsure they can beat Nurnberg
playing away. I am also unconvinced Nurnberg will beat them given their lowly league position. I therefore
think the draw is a decent bet at 9/4 in this lower table clash.

If you prefer betting on a team to win, back VfL Wolfsburg to beat bottom club Hertha BSC at home with
odds of 1/2. This match kicks off at 5.30pm GMT on Sunday.

La Liga – RCD Mallorca 11/10 Draw 12/5 Athletico Madrid 11/5

What I like about this match is the league positions in relation to the betting odds. Mallorca has had a good
season so far and are in fifth position. Facing Athletico Madrid, who are further down the league in tenth
position with nine wins in twenty six matches and seven draws, they will expect to win this match. Mallorca
are not a team stuck in mid-table with nothing to push for, they are poised for European qualification if they
maintain their position to the end of the season. Mallorca lost 3-0 away to Getafe and Madrid won at home
1-0 against Osasuna, but I still believe Mallorca have more to play for and can win this match at home.
11/10 is decent odds for a top five club to win at home.

Serie A – AC Milan 3/5 Draw 53/20 Napoli 9/2

AC Milan are on fine form after winning four of their last five matches. Inter are faltering at the top of the
league and AC Milan will feel the Scudetto is there for the taking. How hungry does AC Milan need to be
when Inter have won the title for the last four years in a row? Napoli are in 8th place in the league but have
lost their last two matches and drawn the other three of their last five games. They will not be relishing a trip
to Milan. With 20 year old Striker Alexandre Pato in fine form I think AC Milan is good value for the 3/5 to win
at home. You might want a bet on AC Milan to win the Serie A title in the outright winners market at odds
of 6/5.

If you were to bet €10 on the three selections your total return if everything goes our way, including your
stake, would be €109.20. If you bet on Wolfsburg at 1/2 in your treble instead of the 9/4 draw bet between
Nurnberg and Hoffenheim your total returns for the €10 bet would be €50.40. This is a significantly lower
return, but a safer bet.

Enjoy your European football betting this weekend with bwin.com.
